James M. Durkin – Principal & Owner – benefitsContinuum, inc.

James is an experienced employee benefits professional with over 30 years in the industry.  Prior to co-founding benefitsContinuum, James worked for Prudential’s Group Department as a Director of Sales from 1999 to 2002.  From 1993 to 1996 James was President of Self Funded Strategies, an Employee Benefit Marketing Firm with an exclusive marketing agreement with Dun & Bradstreet Plan Services. Self Funded Strategies successfully established Dun & Bradstreet Plan Services in the large self funded business adding over 120,000 employee lives to their book of business in less than three years.  He became President of UICI Administrators, a Third Party Administrator located in Dallas, Texas in 1996 where he gained valuable technology and operational experience and tripled revenues in less than two years, from $6,000,000 to $18,000,000 annually.  James began his career with MetLife in the New York Home Office in 1974 and he held various positions for 20 years with responsibilities that included sales, sales management, client management, group insurance administration, underwriting, and financial accounting.  James is a graduate of Villanova University’s Business School with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1973) and a major in Accounting.
